Colorado Sled Hockey is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 and in 1996 was the first sled hockey team sponsored by an NHL affiliate. We are dedicated to providing a competitive environment to foster independence and elevate social interaction through hockey. Currently, we consist of four teams: Youth, A travel, B travel, C travel. New in 2021 our team of disabled veterans have blended to make more competitive teams! Reach out to grandchamppierce@gmail.com, CSH Vice President, to get involved.
Sled hockey (also para-ice hockey, sledge hockey) is an adaptive form of ice hockey for athletes with and without disabilities. Rather than standing on two skates, sled hockey players sit in a "sled" with two ice skates on the bottom, and propel themselves using picks on the butt of their sticks. In 1994, sled hockey was first introduced as a Paralympic sport. Learn more at https://www.usahockey.com/sledhockey.
